Estonia, as a member state of the European Union, follows the harmonized EU regulatory framework for telecommunications and electronic equipment. There is no separate national type approval certification required for radio and telecommunication devices. Market access is governed through compliance with the Radio Equipment Directive (RED) 2014/53/EU and other applicable EU Directives. Any device carrying a valid CE Mark and meeting EU conformity requirements can be legally imported and marketed in Estonia without additional Estonia-specific approval.

Regulatory supervision is managed by the Estonian Consumer Protection and Technical Regulatory Authority (TTJA), the national authority responsible for telecommunications oversight, radio spectrum management, and market surveillance activities. TTJA ensures that radio equipment placed on the Estonian market complies with EU requirements and does not cause harmful interference.
