Aruba DTZ - Type Approval: Overview

Aruba's radio and telecommunications equipment market is overseen by the Directie Telecommunicatie Zaken (DTZ), the government body operating under the Ministry of Finance, Economic Affairs and Primary Sector responsible for managing telecommunications regulation, spectrum oversight, and equipment certification across the island. All radio and telecommunications equipment intended for import or use in Aruba must hold DTZ type approval prior to being placed on the market.

The DTZ type approval process is straightforward and entirely documentation-based. Existing FCC and EU (CE) certifications are accepted as the technical foundation for the application, no local testing is conducted and no physical samples are required. There is no obligation to appoint a local representative, and the CE mark serves as the required labelling standard for equipment placed on the Aruban market. Certificates are issued with a validity of 5 years from the date of issuance, after which renewal is required. Submissions are typically processed within 1 to 3 weeks from the date all the documents are received by us.

Our team takes care of the entire DTZ application process on your behalf, from verifying your existing certifications against DTZ requirements to filing the complete submission, so your equipment reaches the Aruban market smoothly and on time.
