Macau CTT - Type Approval: Overview

The Macao Post and Telecommunications Bureau (CTT) serves as the regulatory authority for all radiocommunications and telecommunications equipment in the Macau Special Administrative Region. Operating under Law No. 21/2024 on the Legal Framework for Radiocommunications, CTT is mandated to establish technical standards for telecommunications equipment, oversee their approval, and regulate their import and use within Macau.

Type approval from CTT is entirely documentation-based, no local testing is carried out and no physical samples need to be submitted. There is no requirement to appoint a local representative, and no specific product labelling obligations are imposed beyond those already required by the originating certification.

Approved equipment carries an indefinite validity, meaning once a model receives CTT type approval, identical units of the same model do not need to go through the process again. From the point of a complete and correct submission, processing is completed within 3-5 weeks.

Our team handles everything from start to finish, assessing your product, preparing the complete documentation package, and managing the submission to CTT, so your equipment is authorised for the Macau market without unnecessary delays.
