The UAE Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology (MoIAT) has introduced a mandatory HS Code requirement for new Emirates Conformity Assessment Scheme (ECAS) and Emirates Quality Mark (EQM) applications, covering both regulated and voluntary products.

The requirement took effect on 28 September 2026. Applicants must enter the HS Code for each product when submitting a new application or certificate request.

Companies preparing ECAS or EQM applications should therefore ensure that the applicable HS Code is correctly identified and included for each product before submission.
