Singapore Updates Telecom Equipment Registration Framework

The Infocomm Media Development Authority has updated its Guide for Registration of Telecommunication Equipment in March 2026, refining procedures for device approval and compliance.

The framework continues to rely on the Supplier’s Declaration of Conformity (SDoC), requiring suppliers to ensure their equipment meets IMDA technical standards before market entry.

Equipment registration remains structured under three schemes:ESER, SER, and GER, based on device complexity and risk. While low-risk devices may receive immediate approval, more complex equipment undergoes verification or evaluation.

Registrations are valid for five years, and updates include revisions to technical standards, such as those for cellular mobile terminals.

With this update, the Infocomm Media Development Authority reinforces a structured, transparent, and risk-based equipment approval regime, supporting both industry innovation and consumer protection. For expert advice, feel free to contact us at info@nanotechsol.com
