The Posts and Telecommunications Department (PTD) is the official authority responsible for regulating telecommunications equipment and radio frequency (RF) devices in Myanmar.

PTD acts as the national telecommunications regulator overseeing wireless, ICT, RF, and telecom equipment intended for importation, sale, or commercial use within Myanmar. Devices such as mobile phones, Wi-Fi equipment, Bluetooth devices, IoT products, wireless modules, and other RF-enabled devices generally require PTD Type Approval before entering the Myanmar market.

Myanmar utilizes a recognition-based approval system and accepts international test reports such as CE/ETSI and FCC reports for technical evaluation. While sample is not required at the moment due to in-country testing laboratories being established, the authority may request additional information or product samples during the review process if necessary.
