The Zambia Information and Communications Technology Authority (ZICTA) has launched a public consultation on the proposed award of spectrum in the 2300 MHz and 3300 MHz bands as part of its 2025–2027 spectrum release roadmap.

The consultation covers 100 MHz of 3300 MHz spectrum for 5G deployment and 10 MHz of 2300 MHz spectrum for LTE and 5G capacity expansion. ZICTA proposes assigning the entire 100 MHz 3300 MHz block as a single contiguous allocation to maximize 5G performance and efficiency.

The Authority also proposes a Single-Stage Sealed Bid process, flexible payment terms, and rollout obligations covering 2026–2028. Stakeholders have been invited to submit comments within 14 days of publication.
