UAE TDRA enhances the emergency services testing for Mobile phones by including Advanced Mobile Location (AML)

The UAE's Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority (TDRA) has introduced a new set of technical requirements for mobile phones within the country, as outlined in TS FS 004, Version 1.0. These changes are designed to improve emergency response capabilities and ensure that devices are compatible with local network standards.

One of the significant updates is the incorporation of Advanced Mobile Location (AML) technology in mobile phones. This feature is crucial for emergency calls, as it allows emergency services to accurately locate the caller, thereby improving response times and potentially saving lives.

Another requirement is that all mobile phones sold in the UAE must come with pre-loaded local emergency numbers. This measure guarantees that users can quickly contact emergency services in urgent situations without having to search for the numbers.
