Thailand NBTC Updates Technical Standards for Wireless Devices and DECT devices
Thailand’s National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) has released updated technical standards for wireless microphones and DECT devices effective under B.E. 2568 (2025).
The updates aim to enhance spectrum efficiency, improve device safety, and support a growing demand for wireless applications in events, telecom, and consumer electronics.
Key Highlights
Wireless Microphones (NBTC TS 1006-2568)Â Covers wireless microphones, in-ear monitors, tour guide systems, assistive listening devices, and WMAS (Wireless Multichannel Audio Systems) with up to 8 MHz bandwidth. Updated frequency allocations and transmitter requirements ensure reliable operation and compliance with safety standards.
DECT Devices (NBTC TS 1042-2568) Applies to DECT (Digital Enhanced Cordless Telecommunications) equipment using 1880–1900 MHz, with a maximum power of 250 mW e.i.r.p. Devices must comply with international RF and safety standards including ETSI EN 301 406 and IEC 62368-1.
