Thailand’s NBTC Approves New Standards and Frequencies for Wireless Microphones

The National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) has approved three draft announcements to enhance radio frequency use and technical standards for wireless microphones.

Approved during Meeting No. 31/2025, chaired by Air Chief Marshal Dr. Thanapan Harijaroen, the measures aim to support growing wireless microphone demand for events, broadcasting, and conferences.

Key updates include:
  • Enhanced Technical Standards: Supporting wireless microphone systems with channel bandwidths greater than 200 kHz to enable multi-channel operation (Wireless Multichannel Audio System – WMAS).

  • Expanded use of the 1880–1900 MHz band for DECT technology, aligning with international practices.

  • Updated Safety and Performance Requirements: Modernized standards for electrical safety and performance to match current wireless technologies.

Dr. Thanapan said the move will ease frequency congestion and strengthen Thailand’s position as a hub for international events and digital broadcasting. Want to know more about Thailand NBTC regulatory updates, feel free to contact us at info@nanotechsol.com.
