Türkiye has notified the WTO of Draft Communiqué (2025/2052/EU) (DGI-2026/..), proposing new ecodesign requirements for external power supplies, battery chargers, wireless chargers, wireless charging pads, and USB Type-C cables. The draft aims to align Türkiye's national framework with the EU's ecodesign requirements for charging products.

Under the proposal, manufacturers would need to comply with new requirements covering energy efficiency, USB Type-C interoperability, product information, and technical documentation. Most provisions are proposed to take effect on 14 December 2028, while a transitional provision would apply upon publication. Stakeholders may submit comments until 28 August 2026.
