Starting January 29, 2025, the Telecommunications Regulatory Commission of Sri Lanka (TRCSL) will implement an International Mobile Equipment Identity (IMEI) registration system. Unregistered SIM-enabled devices, including mobile phones, tablets, and dongles, will be blocked from local networks. Devices connected before January 28, 2025, are exempt from this requirement.

To verify your device's IMEI, send an SMS to 1909 in the following format: IMEI <space> <15-digit IMEI number>
