South Africa: ICASA to Hold Public Hearings on Rapid Deployment Regulations

The Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (ICASA) has announced public hearings on its Draft Regulations on Rapid Deployment of Electronic Communications Networks and Facilities, 2026, scheduled for 13–14 July 2026.

The draft regulations aim to establish a clear and transparent framework for the rapid deployment of telecommunications infrastructure across South Africa while ensuring fair engagement between network operators, landowners, and affected communities.

Stakeholders who submitted written comments on the draft regulations will have the opportunity to present their views during the hearings. The initiative is expected to support more efficient deployment of electronic communications networks and facilities nationwide.

Manufacturers, operators, and industry stakeholders should monitor developments as the final regulations may influence future infrastructure deployment processes and regulatory obligations.
