Singapore to Raise Cybersecurity Labelling Requirements for Residential Routers
Singapore’s Cyber Security Agency (CSA), in collaboration with the Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA), will raise mandatory cybersecurity requirements for residential routers from Cybersecurity Labelling Scheme (CLS) Level 1 to Level 2 by end-2027.
The move comes in response to increasing cyber threats, including a 2025 global operation that identified over 2,700 infected devices in Singapore linked to a botnet used for large-scale cyberattacks.
The enhanced CLS Level 2 requirements will introduce stronger security measures, including improved encryption, secure data storage, and robust authentication mechanisms, aimed at better protecting consumer data and reducing the risk of device compromise.
The updated requirements are currently being developed and are expected to take effect by the end of 2027.For expert support, contact us at info@nanotechsol.com
