Philippines NTC Proposes Amendment to SRD Operating Parameters for Movement Detection Equipment

The National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) has issued a draft Memorandum Circular proposing amendments to Section 2 of Memorandum Circular No. 03-05-2007 relating to operating parameters for Short Range Devices (SRDs).

The proposed amendment updates the permitted operating frequencies and maximum power limits for equipment used for detecting movement and alert applications.

Under the draft circular, the following frequency bands and maximum EIRP limits are proposed:

  • 2400–2483.5 MHz — 25 mW eirp

  • 9200–9500 MHz — 25 mW eirp

  • 9500–9975 MHz — 25 mW eirp

  • 13.4–14.0 GHz — 25 mW eirp

  • 24.05–24.25 GHz — 100 mW eirp

  • 77–81 GHz — 10 mW eirp

The NTC stated that the amendment aims to support developments in wireless technology, improve spectrum efficiency, and promote the use of cost-effective technologies while ensuring wider access to radio spectrum resources.

Once finalized, the Circular will take effect fifteen (15) days after publication in a newspaper of general circulation and filing with the Office of the National Administrative Register (ONAR).For end-to-end guidance on global Type Approval, RF compliance, and market access, contact: info@nanotechsol.com
