Oman’s Type Approval regulatory landscape is undergoing significant changes, set to take effect in August 2024. Here are the key updates:

1. Authority Fees Increase: The Type Approval fees charged by Oman TRA will experience a substantial surge of 150%.

   
   

2. Certificate Validity Reduced: Previously unlimited, certificate validity will now be capped at four years. This change applies retroactively to approval certificates issued before the new law. The four-year validity period begins from the date of issuance.

   
   

3. QR Code Labelling: As part of these reforms, a new label update has been introduced. All relevant products must now include a QR code on their labels.
