Nigeria Opens Consultation on Telecom Policy Review

The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has launched a public consultation to review the National Telecommunications Policy (NTP) 2000, initiating the development of a new National Telecommunications Policy 2026.

The review is conducted in line with the Nigerian Communications Act 2003 and reflects the sector’s significant growth, including 177.4 million subscribers, 50.58% broadband penetration, and over 10% contribution to GDP as of November 2025.

The Consultation Paper outlines 15 reform proposals covering competition, economic regulation, satellite services, online safety, universal access, local content, cybersecurity, broadband objectives, and infrastructure protection.

Stakeholders are invited to submit feedback within 30 days of publication. For more such information, feel free to contact us at info@nanotechsol.com
