Niger’s telecom regulator ARCEP has opened a public consultation on a plan to reorganize the country’s spectrum to support future 4G and 5G services.

Niger adopted the 2025 National Frequency Allocation Plan (PNAF) to update its spectrum framework. The new transition plan sets out how existing users will move to the new frequency arrangements.

ARCEP is focusing on the 600 MHz, 700 MHz and 3.5 GHz bands. The 3.5 GHz band is being considered for 5G, while some existing FWA services could move to the 6 GHz band.

The proposed transition is planned for 2027–2029, covering spectrum reorganisation, future allocation and licensing arrangements.
