NBTC Reminds Licensees to Follow Rules on Foreign Ownership
The National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) has reminded all licensed telecom and broadcasting companies to follow the rules preventing foreign control of their business, under the Notification on the Prohibition of Acts Constituting Foreign Business Dominance B.E. 2555 (2012), as amended.
According to the rules:
Companies must create or review internal measures to prevent foreigners from controlling the company.
They must submit a signed statement from an authorized executive confirming they will not violate the foreign ownership rules.
Companies must also report annually on ownership and management, including any foreign influence, to the NBTC.
All reports and supporting documents must be submitted within 30 days after the company’s annual shareholders’ meeting.
The NBTC emphasized that compliance is mandatory, and all documents must be complete to ensure transparency and proper review. This helps protect national interests and ensure legal compliance in the telecom and broadcasting sector. For more information, feel free to contact us on info@nanotechsol.com
