Morocco Launches 5G Licensing Process to Accelerate Digital Transformation

The National Telecommunications Regulatory Agency (ANRT) of Morocco has officially launched a call for competition for the granting of licenses to establish and operate 5th Generation (5G) mobile networks. This initiative aligns with the goals of the Morocco Digital 2030 strategy and the country’s broader push to modernize its telecommunications infrastructure.

According to the announcement, the licensing process will enable the Kingdom to adopt cutting-edge 5G mobile technologies, which are expected to play a critical role in supporting economic growth, digital transformation, and innovation across sectors such as industry, healthcare, agriculture, and transportation.

“5G delivers exceptionally fast data speeds, minimal delays ideal for real-time use, and robust capabilities to support critical services across multiple industries,” the ANRT stated.

The bid documents outline the regulatory, technical, and financial conditions for deploying 5G networks in Morocco. They also detail:

  • Obligations on coverage and quality of service

  • Requirements for commercial rollout

  • The evaluation criteria for submitted offers

All interested stakeholders can obtain the bid documents directly from the ANRT.

After proposal evaluation, selected winners will receive licenses by decree. The initiative marks a major milestone in Morocco’s drive for digital innovation and connectivity. For more information on Morocco’s Regulatory updates, feel free to contact us at info@nanotechsol.com
