Malaysia’s Malaysian Technical Standards Forum Bhd (MTSFB) has opened a public consultation on the second revision of its Specification for Analogue Terminal Equipment Connected to the Telecommunications Network.

The proposed technical code updates requirements for analogue terminal equipment connected to traditional telephone networks and modern IP-based networks, including VoIP. It also revises connection methods and technical requirements for signalling and analogue caller identification.

Manufacturers and suppliers of analogue telephones and related equipment should review the draft to determine whether their products meet the proposed requirements.
