Lebanon Transfers Telecom Equipment Type Approval to TRA
Lebanon Transfers Telecom Equipment Type Approval to TRA Lebanon has officially moved its telecommunications equipment type approval authority from the Ministry of Communications (MoC) to the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA), marking a significant regulatory shift.
Under Authority Decision No. 3/2026, the TRA now oversees all documentation review, certification issuance, and compliance monitoring for wireless and terminal telecom equipment. Manufacturers and importers must submit technical compliance files, third-party accredited test reports, declarations of conformity, and detailed product documentation.
Certificates previously issued by MoC now require mandatory re-certification under TRA, with no grace period. The TRA also allows manufacturers to hold type approval certificates in their name, but importers must obtain certificates under their own name before bringing products into Lebanon.
Following the latest regulatory update, all new Type Approval applications must now be submitted directly to the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA), as the Ministry of Communications no longer issues equipment approval certificates.
Our local team is already in direct coordination with the TRA and is fully prepared to support manufacturers and their associates with Lebanon TRA type approval certifications. For expert insights, feel free to contact us on info@nanotechsol.com.
