Kenya’s Ministry of Information, Communications and the Digital Economy, in consultation with the Communications Authority of Kenya (CA), has commenced stakeholder validation of the revised Kenya Information and Communications Regulations, 2026.

The regulatory package includes proposed rules for Type Approval of Electronic Communications Equipment, licensing, spectrum, numbering, compliance and enforcement, and other ICT areas.

The validation exercise was held from 15–17 September 2026, following earlier public consultation and a Regulatory Impact Assessment.

The proposed Type Approval Regulations 2026 are particularly relevant to manufacturers and suppliers of electronic communications equipment seeking market access in Kenya.
