Jordan's Telecommunications Regulatory Commission (TRC) will introduce a new Type Approval Regulation for telecommunications devices on September 15, 2024.  Important updates consist of:

• Certificate Validity: 1 year instead of 3 years

• Test reports: Labs that have earned ILAC accreditation are required to submit them.

• Modification Applications: New applications are needed for changes to model numbers or specifications; modifications to brand names, descriptions, or certificate holder information are required without compromising the validity of the certificate.

• Exempt Devices: Desktop computers, printers, laptops, and GPS receivers are all exempt as long as permission is granted.

• Labeling Requirements: The Manufacturer Name, Brand, Model, and IMEI for cellular devices must be displayed on the device according to the labeling requirements.
