Indonesia Revises LTE & 5G Equipment Standards

Indonesia’s Ministry of Communication and Digital has issued Decree No. 569/2025, updating technical standards for LTE and IMT-2020 (5G) telecommunications equipment. This decree replaces Decree No. 352/2024 and introduces revised requirements for frequency use, RF performance, safety, and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC).

Scope

The regulation covers LTE and 5G devices, including those in the 2.6 GHz band, which must meet the updated standards and be certified locally before market entry.

Certification & Testing

Devices must be certified by the Ministry and comply with requirements for:

  • Safety: SNI IEC 62368-1; IEC 60950-1

  • EMC: SNI CISPR 32; ETSI EN 301 489-52

  • RF Performance: 3GPP TS 36.521-1; ETSI EN 301 908 series

  • Non-Ionizing Radiation: As per Ministry guidelines

Frequency & RF Compliance

Equipment must operate within approved E-UTRA bands (Bands 1, 3, 5, 8, 28, 40, and 41) and support channel bandwidths of up to 20 MHz, while meeting limits for output power, adjacent channel leakage, spurious emissions, and reference sensitivity.

All subscriber devices must include a valid IMEI. Test reports issued prior to the decree’s implementation may still be accepted if they comply with the updated standards. For more updates and guidance on compliance, contact info@nanotechsol.com.
