ICASA Releases Draft Amendments to South Africa’s Spectrum Regulations and Fees Framework
ICASA has published draft amendments to South Africa’s Radio Frequency Spectrum Regulations, 2015 and Spectrum Fees Regulations, 2010 following its satellite services licensing inquiry.
The proposed changes aim to strengthen the regulatory framework for satellite services, support innovation and investment, and improve spectrum management efficiency.
The amendments also address:
• Satellite user terminals
• Earth Stations in Motion (ESIM/ESV)
• International satellite operator registration
• Spectrum fees for higher frequency bands
Stakeholders can submit comments to ICASA until 29 June 2026.
