The Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (ICASA) has published the National Radio Frequency Plan 2026 (NRFP-26), providing an updated framework for the allocation and management of radio frequency spectrum across the country. The plan replaces the 2021 edition and covers frequencies from 8.3 kHz to 3000 GHz.Existing spectrum licences issued under the previous plan remain valid until they expire or are amended or revoked by ICASA.

 The updated plan aligns South Africa's spectrum allocations with the 2024 ITU Radio Regulations and incorporates decisions adopted at WRC-23, along with revised national footnotes and SADC harmonisation measures. It also confirms that South Africa continues to follow ITU Region 1 frequency allocations.
