Egypt’s National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (NTRA) is preparing to introduce a Fast Track Pre-Type Approval process for telecom equipment importers.

The new process is aimed at simplifying procedures and reducing processing time for importers, while applicable telecom equipment will continue to be subject to NTRA’s regulatory and technical requirements.

Type approval remains a key requirement for relevant telecom equipment entering the Egyptian market, helping ensure devices comply with applicable standards before import, assembly, or sale.
