The DRC’s ARPTC has announced the launch of Direct-to-Cell (D2C) services by Airtel Congo in partnership with Starlink.

The service enables compatible 4G smartphones to connect via satellite in areas beyond terrestrial mobile coverage, extending connectivity to remote and underserved locations.

The launch expands the DRC’s telecom ecosystem by integrating satellite connectivity with mobile networks, creating new opportunities to extend services beyond traditional terrestrial infrastructure and strengthen nationwide connectivity.
