Brazil has formalised its national Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) framework through CONAMA Resolution No. 516/2026.

The resolution establishes restrictions on 10 hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment placed on the Brazilian market, along with new compliance, registration, declaration and labelling requirements.

The new framework adds an important environmental compliance requirement for manufacturers and importers supplying applicable electronic products to Brazil.
