Brazil’s National Telecommunications Agency (ANATEL) has approved Resolution No. 789/2026, establishing an updated Plano de Atribuição, Destinação e Distribuição de Faixas de Frequências (PDFF) for Brazil.

The new framework updates the allocation and use of radio-frequency bands for telecommunications, broadcasting, and other radio services. It also introduces updated provisions for digital TV and TV 3.0, including frequency ranges and channel planning.

The resolution revokes Resolution No. 772/2025 and entered into force in August 2026, 30 days after its publication.

For manufacturers of RF and wireless equipment, the updated frequency plan is important when assessing whether a product’s operating frequencies are permitted for use in Brazil.
