Botswana Communications Regulatory Authority (BOCRA) issued a public notice informing all stakeholders about the discontinuation of the renewal process for Type Approval Certificates.

Effective from July 30, 2020, BOCRA will no longer issue Type Approval Certificates with expiry dates. Instead, they will issue certificates without expiry dates. Manufacturers with existing approval certificates that have an expiry date are required to request a new certificate without an expiry date. Requests should be made at least three months before the expiry date.

For any variations or upgrades to equipment that impact safety, EMC, spectrum use, or standards, a new Type Approval application will still be necessary.
