Bahrain TRA Finalizes Fixed Service Spectrum Updates

The Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) of Bahrain has finalized updates to its regulatory framework for Fixed Point-to-Point Links and Point-to-Multi-Point Systems following a public consultation.

Under the updated policy, the TRA will no longer grant new Fixed Service assignments in the 6.425–7.125 GHz and 39.5–40.5 GHz frequency bands, while existing assignments may continue and be renewed. The Authority has also introduced an annex identifying IMT-related bands and updated technical parameters to align with international standards.

In addition, the TRA confirmed support for light licensing use of the 57–66 GHz band to facilitate advanced fixed wireless technologies. The Authority will continue assessing the long-term use of the upper 6 GHz band, including potential applications for IMT, Wi-Fi, and other wireless services.
