The Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) is reviewing proposed updates to the 2.5 GHz spectrum technical framework to support the deployment of 5G networks and Advanced Antenna Systems (AAS).

The proposed changes include revised emission limits, the introduction of Total Radiated Power (TRP) for certain technical requirements, updated advisory guidelines, and new provisions for wideband power amplifiers.

The proposals are currently under review. ACMA will publish its final decision after considering stakeholder feedback. Until then, the existing technical framework for the 2.5 GHz spectrum band remains in force.
