The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has completed the assignment stage of the Next Generation Mobile Services (NGMS) / 5G spectrum auction, marking another milestone in Pakistan’s transition toward 5G connectivity.

The auction generated $509.6 million (approximately PKR 142.6 billion) for the national exchequer. Participating operators included Jazz, Ufone, and Zong, which secured spectrum across multiple frequency bands.

A total of 480 MHz of spectrum was allocated, including assignments in the 2600 MHz and 3500 MHz bands, enabling operators to proceed with network planning and deployment activities.

With the assignment stage finalized, the development paves the way for the gradual rollout of 5G services in Pakistan, supporting the country’s broader digital connectivity goals.
