Lebanon TRA Launches Spectrum Refarming & Broadband Framework Consultation for Future 5G/6G Deployment

Lebanon’s Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) has officially launched a public consultation on a new Spectrum Refarming and Broadband Framework designed to support broadband expansion and future 5G/6G deployment across the country.

The consultation proposes the refarming and reallocation of major frequency bands including 2.3 GHz, 2.6 GHz, 3.5 GHz, and 26 GHz to enable Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) and next-generation broadband services.

According to the TRA, the initiative aims to improve spectrum efficiency, formalize spectrum usage, strengthen national broadband infrastructure, and establish a future-ready licensing framework for wireless technologies in Lebanon.

The framework also includes proposed spectrum auctions, migration strategies for existing operators, rollout obligations, and long-term 4G/5G FWA deployment planning.

Submission deadline: June 11, 2026

The TRA will additionally host a stakeholder workshop on May 21, 2026, at the Ministry of Telecommunications/TRA headquarters in Riad El Solh to discuss the proposed regulatory framework and spectrum policies.
