Lebanon’s Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) has clarified its Type Approval requirements for telecom equipment.

Under the updated approach, an importer is no longer required to obtain the Type Approval Certificate. The Type Approval Certificate can be issued in the manufacturer’s name, providing a more streamlined route for market access.

Once approved, the same Type Approval Certificate can be used by multiple importers in Lebanon for the same approved model. Separate approvals are not required for each importer.

The approval applies to equipment imported as a standalone device, embedded component, or corresponding spare part, provided it matches the approved model and technical specifications.
