Brazil's National Telecommunications Agency (Anatel) has opened a public consultation on a draft operational procedure that establishes principles and guidelines for the identification of approved mobile phones, lithium batteries, and mobile phone chargers.

The proposal outlines a framework for product approval identification, including the use of physical and digital verification mechanisms designed to support product authentication and traceability.

According to the draft, the new approach would apply to approved products, authorized seal suppliers, and entities involved in managing the digital governance of the identification system.
