Argentina ENACOM Streamlines Telecom Equipment Permits with New Legal Framework
Argentina’s telecom approval framework is entering a new era. With ENACOM Resolution 57/2026, the country is replacing long-standing legacy rules (729/80 and 784/87) with a modernized system designed to align more closely with international standards such as FCC and CE.
This regulatory shift will transform how telecom and wireless equipment enters the Argentine market, creating both new requirements and new opportunities for manufacturers, importers, and compliance teams.
What is changing?
Third-Party Certification Type Approval will move to a decentralized model based on accredited Certification Bodies and laboratories operating under ISO/IEC 17065. These organizations will issue the Certificates of Conformity required for RAMATEL registration.
Permanent Registration Under the new framework, approvals will no longer expire. Instead, ENACOM will rely on Market Surveillance mechanisms to verify continued compliance, offering a more efficient long-term path to market.
Fully Digital Process All procedures will be handled exclusively through the HERTZ System once implementation begins, streamlining submissions and improving regulatory management.
The transition period is already in progress, and the new RAMATEL framework will become fully effective on 1 September 2026. Until then, applications will continue under the current rules, with approvals issued for three years. After that date, all new registrations must comply with the new model.
