Switzerland’s telecom regulator, OFCOM (BAKOM), in coordination with national telecom operators, has implemented enhanced anti-spoofing measures aimed at improving the integrity of caller identification across voice networks.

The framework introduces stricter handling of international calls that present Swiss (+41) numbers, requiring operators to apply identification markers or remove caller ID information where verification is not possible. The measure is designed to reduce misuse of number spoofing and improve traceability across cross-border voice traffic.

The initiative is part of broader telecom compliance and network security efforts focused on strengthening fraud prevention mechanisms and ensuring reliable caller identification in interconnected telecom environments.
