Indonesia Ends SAR SUKET Pathway, Mandates Full Testing from April 2026

Indonesia is strengthening its certification framework for wireless devices, with a transition away from SAR declaration-based submissions (commonly referred to as SUKET / BBPPT letters).

The SUKET mechanism was introduced as a temporary measure to address limited SAR testing capacity, allowing applicants to submit a declaration in place of full Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) test reports during certification.

According to regulatory transition discussions, this mechanism was referenced as valid until April 1, 2026, after which Indonesia is expected to move toward a full SAR testing-based approach under the amended framework.

What is changing:

Shift toward mandatory SAR testing for applicable devices

Reduced reliance on declaration-based submissions

Stronger emphasis on verified laboratory test reports

Industry impact:

Longer preparation timelines due to testing requirements

Increased need for early lab scheduling and compliance planning

Greater focus on complete technical documentation at submission stage

This development reflects Indonesia’s ongoing effort to strengthen RF exposure compliance and align with global best practices for device safety.

Final implementation details remain subject to the issuance of the amended regulation by DJID.
