Togo Adopts 2025 National Frequency Allocation Plan
Togo's telecommunications regulator, ARCEP Togo, has officially adopted a new National Frequency Allocation Plan (PNAF) through Decision No. 005/CNRCEP/ARCEP/DG concerning the adoption of the National Frequency Allocation Plan (PNAF), 2025 Edition.
The new PNAF aligns Togo's national spectrum framework with the latest ITU Radio Regulations and establishes the allocation and use of radio frequency bands across the country.
Key Highlights
Adoption of the 2025 Edition of the National Frequency Allocation Plan (PNAF).
Alignment of national spectrum management with the latest international radiocommunication regulations.
Confirmation that Togo follows the frequency allocation framework applicable to ITU Region 1.
Classification of frequency bands for civil, military, and shared civil-military use.
Recognition of various radio applications, including:
RFID systems
Short-Range Devices (SRDs)
Inductive applications
Intelligent transport systems
Wireless hearing aids
Active medical implants
Continued recognition of the 433.05–434.79 MHz ISM band, commonly used by IoT devices, remote controls, sensors, and alarm systems.
Maintenance of internationally harmonized allocations for maritime safety and distress communications.
Inclusion of amateur radio allocations and spectrum management provisions consistent with ITU requirements.
The updated PNAF serves as the national reference for spectrum planning and frequency management in Togo and provides the regulatory framework supporting current and future wireless technologies and radiocommunication services.
