Eswatini Launches Updated National Frequency Allocation Plan 2025

The Eswatini Communications Commission (ESCCOM) has released the National Frequency Allocation Plan (NFAP) 2025, replacing the 2020 edition. This updated plan manages radio frequencies nationwide, supporting mobile phones, TV, emergency services, and satellite communications.

The NFAP 2025 incorporates the latest international decisions from the World Radiocommunications Conference 2023 (WRC-23) and aligns with global ITU standards and regional SADC agreements.

Why It Matters:

Radio frequencies are limited resources essential for wireless communication. The new plan ensures efficient, fair allocation to avoid interference and foster new technologies.

Key Features

  • Detailed frequency assignments for various services

  • Clear definitions to guide users

  • Provisions for Eswatini’s unique needs and cross-border coordination

Benefits:

Improved communication quality, faster internet, better emergency response, and a stable framework for all users.

ESCCOM will continue updating the plan to keep pace with technology. This plan is a major step forward in Eswatini’s digital growth, promising better and more reliable communication for all.
