Burundi’s ARCT Requires Foreign Applicants to Appoint Local Representative for Approval Certificates
The Telecommunications Regulation and Supervision Agency (ARCT) of Burundi has announced a new requirement for applicants residing abroad who seek approval certificates for telecommunications equipment.
According to the official notice (Ref: ARCT/4258), all foreign applicants must now designate a local contact person ,either an individual or a legal entity residing within Burundi. This step is intended to improve efficiency, ensure proper administrative follow-up, and streamline communication between ARCT and applicants.
The designated representative will be responsible for:
Submitting and receiving official correspondence related to the application.
Transmitting any additional documents requested by ARCT.
Overseeing the process of submitting samples for approval.
Managing payment of related approval fees.
Acting as the communication channel between ARCT and the foreign applicant.
Applicants are required to provide the following details of their designated representative when submitting applications:
Full name
Complete physical address
Telephone number and email address
Copy of a valid ID
