The Czech Telecommunication Office (CTU) will open the 26 GHz spectrum band for commercial use from 1 July 2026, supporting the rollout of next-generation wireless networks in the Czech Republic.

The band will enable 5G services, fixed wireless access (FWA), and private/industrial networks across sectors such as manufacturing, logistics, and smart infrastructure environments.

The 26 GHz band is designed for ultra-high-speed, low-latency connectivity, particularly in dense urban areas and locations where fibre deployment is limited or costly.

CTU has also published frequency usage information to improve transparency, support network planning, reduce interference risks, and facilitate new market entry.

The move aligns with EU spectrum policy and supports investment in advanced digital infrastructure and Industry 4.0 applications.
